Why do I need to hire an agent?

In the day of internet, social media and DIY, why do I need to hire an agent when I can just sell it myself? Good question. Let me ask you a few. Why would you go to a restaurant when you can cook it yourself? Why would you hire a plumber when you can fix it yourself? Why would you hire a mechanic when you can change your own oil? Because these are industry professionals and they simply make life easier. A real estate agent does the same thing. They take the pressure off of you so you can go on with your life.

According to forbes.com, here are 5 good reasons to hire a real estate agent. 1. Better access/More convenience
2. Negotiating is Tricky Business
3. Contracts Can be Hard to Handle
4. Real Estate Agents Can't Lie
5.Not Everyone Can Save Money
In short, agents have been trained to handle the legal and financial aspects of real estate transactions.
They are bound by law to act on behalf of their client and, although you may save on commissions,
working without an agent can actually cost you more if you don’t know what you are doing. This is
their job. Would an agent be able to walk into your workplace and do your job without training? Then
why do you want to theirs without proper training.

Realtor.com has a few more reasons.
1. They have loads of expertise
2. They have turbocharged searching power
3. They have bullish negotiating chops
4. They are connected to everyone
5. They adhere to a strict code of ethics
6. They are your sage parent/data analyst/therapist-all rolled into one
This article points out the value in an agent’s knowledge, skill and support for their clients. Are you
aware of the disclosures that need to be done when selling a home? What if the buyer is using VA
or HUD funding, do you know what they require of a seller before they will approve the purchase?
How many people do you think will see your sign in your yard or online ad versus how many people
can see it if it is in the MLS system which is a national listing service only real estate agents have
access to? I guess my next question would be, how bad do you really want to sell your house?
Without an agent, it could take a lot longer and you may not get the best price if you don’t have
access to all the buyers that are looking in your area.
Are you seeing the value in an agent yet?

If I have made you realize how important having an agent help you sell your house, I would love
to be that agent! Please contact me at dhrealestatesc@gmail.com or
